To Be Better

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world.
Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.
-Rumi

Do you watch the news?
Lots of things in this world don't make sense.
If the news reports are to be believed there is only poverty, greed, injustice, abuse, hunger and many other newsworthy subjects.

We absorb the negativity until we are afraid of what will happen next.
We complain and blame.

Is there any hope?  Yes!

You don't have to turn off the TV, bury your head in the sand or be in denial.
But change starts with us.

The answer is simple but not easy.

Be a better person.

Perform acts of kindness for family, friends, strangers, maybe anyone.....everyone.

What is an act of kindness?
-Act (verb) do something
       (noun) a thing done
-Kindness (noun) being friendly, generous, and considerate

Do something considerate or friendly, give someone a compliment, offer help.

Ask yourself:
How can I use my strengths in service to others?
What weakness can I work on to change my life?

Be the best version of you.

Create solutions to the problems you see,
in your small little world,
and the whole wide world too.

Maybe we will see YOU on the news.

  • Smile at each person you see.
  • Share kind words, a lot.
  • Ask yourself, Am I being kind?
  • Hug someone.
  • Create ripples of happiness.
  • And pass it on.  And on....and on.

We all have a path we use for our journey...but we must share that path with others.

Today, I am impacted by the loving memory of Jack Pinto, age 6, who was a student at Sandy Hook Elementary School.  His birthday was on May 6, he would have been 7.  He was an avid football fan who loved the New York Giants and was a talented wrestler.  We must not forget him or the others that lost their lives and their chance to change the world....to be better.

My mission is to spread happiness, changing the world, making a difference, one person at a time.

Maybe
YOU
are the solution,
have the answer,
the cure,
the big idea!
